"We see the digital training and the physical visits as two parts that complement each other very well."

Jimmie Spångberg, Nilfisk, Sales Manager Sweden

Knowledge that makes a difference in customer interactions

The right product knowledge needs to be where it makes a difference – with the salespeople who meet the customer. With short digital product training courses via Moblrn, Nilfisk makes knowledge accessible to its dealers, while results can be tracked and measured. So far, the training has reached 188 facilities in 151 locations, with an average knowledge increase of 50 percent.

Product knowledge that reaches all the way

Nilfisk uses short digital micro-courses to make product knowledge accessible to retail staff at their dealerships. The training sessions cover topics such as high pressure, dust management, and Nilfisk's product range, and can be completed whenever it fits into the workday.

To date, the training courses have reached 188 facilities across three retailers and 151 locations. In total, 927 retail salespeople have been trained.

We asked Nilfisk a few questions

How has the initiative worked so far? What do the results say – and what role do the digital training courses play when Nilfisk also meets dealers in stores? We asked Nilfisk a few questions about their first time with Moblrn, the results so far, and how they view digital product training going forward.

How has the first time together with Moblrn been?

”The initial phase of our collaboration with Moblrn has been nothing but positive. We have received first-class support from our contact persons, who are always quick to respond, proactive, and very helpful.” Marie Wellmark, Nilfisk

Marie also highlights that the management of courses and questions has run smoothly, describing the process as both efficient and professional.

Is there anything in the results so far that you are extra pleased with?

"We are very pleased with the results so far. Among other things, we see an average rating of 4.3 out of 5, which shows that the training courses are appreciated by the participants." Marie Wellmark, Nilfisk

But it is not only the rating that Nilfisk looks at. The ability to see how participants actually engage with the training is also valuable.

“Something we also see as very positive is that the participants actually take the time to complete the courses properly.” Marie Wellmark, Nilfisk

Through the statistics, Nilfisk can track the average time spent on each course – providing an indication that the content is actually being consumed and not just clicked through.

The results also show an average knowledge increase of 50 percent, while participants answer 81 percent of the training courses' knowledge checks correctly.

How do you view the interaction between digital training programs and your physical visits?

For Nilfisk, it is not about choosing between digital and physical. Instead, they see the two formats as parts of the same work.

"We see the digital training courses and the physical visits as two parts that complement each other very well." Jimmie Spångberg, Nilfisk

The digital courses often serve as an entry point for dialogue during Nilfisk's store visits. There, they can follow up on whether the course has been completed, what the participants thought, and if there are areas where they desire more knowledge or further in-depth study.

Participants can also indicate if they want more information or would like a visit – something that has already led from the digital to the physical meeting.

"In several cases, this has led to physical training sessions in stores." Björn Engelsen, Nilfisk

During the in-person training sessions, Nilfisk can delve deeper into specific topics, discuss local needs, and create a more interactive training experience. In this way, the digital and in-person training sessions reinforce each other and contribute to more continuous learning.

How do you want to develop the work going forward?

"We feel we have had a fantastic start and look forward to continuing to develop our collaboration. We want to gradually expand our training offerings and take even greater advantage of the opportunities that the digital platform offers." Marie Wellmark, Nilfisk

For Nilfisk, the next step is therefore both about more training and about continuing to take advantage of the opportunities available in the platform.

Marie, Jimmie & Björn

A start Nilfisk wants to build on

The training programs that are already in place also continue to create value over time. As new employees join, they can take part in existing courses, while Nilfisk can track results and insights to continue developing the content. Nilfisk also sees value in using the courses internally – both to refresh knowledge that may have been forgotten over time and as an introduction for new hires.

In this way, the training programs do not become a one-off effort, but a resource that can be used, followed up, and developed over time.
